WestJet adds daily nonstops from Halifax to Dublin

WestJet to launch Halifax-Dublin, pax on YYT-DUB to be rerouted

CALGARY — Halifax is getting new daily nonstop service to Dublin, courtesy of WestJet.

The carrier has announced that it will be adding the service starting April 29, 2019 and running until Oct. 25, 2019. Flights depart daily from Halifax (YHZ) at 10:20 p.m., and return from Dublin (DUB) at 9:00 a.m.

WestJet also announced that service from St. John’s to Dublin is ending in summer 2019, and is currently contacting passengers who’ve booked flights on this route to inform them of the itinerary change. These passengers will be rerouted through Halifax.

On expanding WestJet’s Atlantic gateway from YHZ, Tim Croyle, Executive Vice-President Commercial, said: “WestJet continues to invest in Halifax with the addition of flights to Dublin on our efficient and guest-friendly Boeing 737-MAX this summer. We are proud to be the carrier with the most transatlantic flights from YHZ to destinations like Dublin, Paris, London and Glasgow while being a strong driver of economic and employment growth in the region.”

WestJet’s Boeing 737-MAX aircraft features Premium and Economy cabins, as well as WestJet Connect and the Boeing Sky Interior. Flights are timed to optimize connectivity to and from flights from central Canada and the Atlantic provinces.

WestJet has served Halifax International Airport for 15 years and this summer will operate nonstop service to 16 cities, including London (Gatwick), Paris, Dublin, Glasgow, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. At peak summer schedule, the airline will operate more than 25 flights per day from YHZ.
