HALIBURTON — Staying in a yurt is no longer a novelty for Canadians. But staying in one that’s been outfitted in a parka? Now that’s something to talk about.
A new collaboration between Sport Check and Woods has resulted in The Woods Parka Lodge, Canada’s first and only parka-insulated winter yurt.
That’s right, not only do parkas keep YOU warm and toasty, they keep your yurt warm too!
Located in the Haliburton region, the original design of the yurt was inspired by Woods’ new Alverstone Expedition Parka and is meant to celebrate the brand’s long history of exploration in Canada. The same durable materials that explorers have depended on for over 100 years during Canada’s harshest winters was used to drape this yurt, resulting in ultimate protection from the cold.
Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a Woods Alverstone Expedition Parka or McBride Bomber Jacket. They can then snowshoe up to 60 acres of pristine scenic country that surrounds the lodge, find their inner yogi with private yoga lessons, and soak up incredible views from the viewing platform.
“Rugged, stylish and inspiring, the Woods Parka Lodge is a classic Canadian outdoor winter experience, and the perfect setting to showcase our new collection,” said David Lui, Vice President, Marketing, FGL Sports. “The Lodge is a special tribute to Woods’ long and storied history in Canada of over 130 years, and we want our rich legacy as a pioneer and outfitter to continue inspiring Canadians to explore more of their own backyard.”
The Woods Parka Lodge is now available to book exclusively on Airbnb for a limited time. For more information go to this link.
