TORONTO — Avalon Waterways is giving travel agents a new way to close a group sale, by offering clients a savings of $1,500 per person on select river cruises.

The cruise line has announced $1,500 off per person on a host of its Active Discovery Cruises for 2019. Bookings must be confirmed by Dec. 18, 2018.

The offer applies to nearly 60 departures of the cruises along the Rhône, Rhine and Danube rivers.

On an Active Discovery cruise, passengers have the choice each day of three types of free shore excursions: a Classic (usually a walking tour with local guide), a Discover (a taste of cultural immersion such as sampling cheese and beer at an ancient abbey), or an Active (such as a guided hike, jog or bike tour).
