TORONTO — Luxury Gold has launched its 2019 India and Indian Subcontinent Collection, featuring eight itineraries that include many once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including Diwali.
During the annual four-day celebration, which takes place this year on Nov. 7, the country appears illuminated with homes full of lights, candles and spiritual offerings while fireworks light up the skies.
“During Diwali, clients can experience a deeper level of cultural immersion as our journeys get up close and personal with locals celebrating and the customs that make for a truly magical experience – from discovering Diwali dishes with plenty of sweets, to decorating homes with Rangoli, colourful artwork made with rice powder that locals use to decorate their porches with gorgeous designs – we exist to offer travellers once-in-a-lifetime experiences,” said Brad Ford, president of Luxury Gold.
Here are a few sample itineraries for 2019:
- Classical India with Nepal: This 13-day journey begins in Delhi with a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk bazaar and visits to Red Fort, Qutub Minar and the Gandhi memorial. Guests then fly to Nepal to enjoy highlights like the Narayanhiti Royal Palace, Swayambhunath, and a meet and greet with an Everest summiteer.
- Imperial Rajasthan with ME to WE extension: While on this 16-day adventure, guests travel to Agra to visit the Sadar Bazzar and tour the Royal Pavilions and gardens, journey to Taj Mahal before and enjoy High Tea at Jaipur’s City Palace. Other highlights include dinner and wine amidst the Kanoi Sand Dunes and a stay at the five-star Leela Palace in Udaipur. The ME to WE Culturally Immersive Experience extension begins at the Aravalli Mountains and allows guests to contribute to a sustainability project in a local village.
- Essence of India with Ranthambore: This eight-day trip starts in Old Delhi before heading to the Taj Mahal at dawn. Guests then journey to Ranthambore where they’ll stay at the Royal Palace of Nahargarh Ranthambhore and search for the elusive Bengal Tiger with an expert naturalist. The trip concludes with a visit to Jaipur’s City Palace and a Celebration Dinner at Baradari Restaurant.
