NEW YORK — The month of April usually brings a few spring showers, but we doubt the epic rainstorm that fell in New York yesterday was what locals had in mind.
A huge rainstorm caused flash flooding in streets and dumped a total of 3.29 inches of rain in Central Park on both Sunday and Monday. LaGuardia reported a total of 2.86 inches of rain, while JFK fared a bit better with 1.53 inches. On Monday alone, 2.82 inches of rain came down on the city, making it the wettest day since Oct. 29, 2017.
This made for a horrendous morning commute (and certainly put a damper on travel plans for visitors). Photos and videos of the Big Apple underwater flooded social media – here are the most outrageous scenes:
