LONDON — Location can make or break a wedding proposal, which is why people around the world spend months – and money – into finding the perfect place to go down on bended knee. Now, thanks to wedding planning website hitched.co.uk, a handy cheat sheet of the world’s most popular proposal sites is helping lovebirds achieve their ultimate proposal.
The company used geotagging and hashtags like #bridetobe and #engaged to track the most popular global landmarks on Instagram where couples get engaged. What they found may surprise you.
Coming in at #1 as the world’s most popular landmark for proposals was Disneyland, Paris, with one in 500 proposals. Following closely behind is sister park Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida, with one in 555 proposals.
