MONTREAL — Air Transat has announced it will now offer complimentary hot meals to Economy Class passengers on all transatlantic flights, now from Canadian gateways to Europe as well as from Europe to Canada, starting May 1.

“At Air Transat, meeting our clients’ needs as much as possible is in our DNA,” says Jean-François Lemay, President-General Manager of Air Transat. “We are sure that the improvement of our menu on board our transatlantic flights will be appreciated by our clients who are planning a summer holiday to Europe. These new meals allow us to enhance our inflight experience, reinforcing Air Transat’s position as leader in holiday travel in Canada.”

With the new and improved Bistro menu, starting May 1 all Economy Class passengers aboard Air Transat flights from Canada to Europe will have a choice between two hot dishes: garlic and ginger chicken with jasmine rice; or Shanghai noodles sautéed with vegetables in an Asian sauce. All meals will include a salad, sweet treat and glass of wine.

On flights from Europe to Canada, two new hot dishes will be offered to passengers in Economy Class: chicken Provençal served with orzo with broccoli and carrots; and penne in rosé sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and parsley. These meals will also include a salad, sweet treat and glass of wine.

As reported on Feb. 8, Air Transat last week unveiled its summer 2018 edition of the Chef’s Menu by Daniel Vézina. Two new meals are sure to make taste buds sing: pork filet mignon with Quebec blueberries, and chicken cordon bleu garnished with smoked meat. The meals, in addition to other summer 2018 menu choices, can now be pre-ordered and will be served starting May 1 to all Club Class passengers, free of chard. Daniel Vézina meals are also available for purchase in Economy Class ($25 for lunch/dinner; $15 for breakfast).
