LOS ANGELES — Would you pick up a couple of hitchhikers and go on an epic travel adventure together? What if said hitchhikers had wagging tails and adorable furry faces?
Well, that changes everything, doesn’t it?
Jordan Kahana of Chicago, 30, was driving from Los Angeles to Colorado in December 2016 when he came across two small puppies on the side of the road. An animal lover to his core, the digital director pulled over, picked them up and drove to an animal hospital where he was told by vets that the male and female pups – both just eight weeks old – were severely dehydrated.
Hospital staff also told him that the stretch of road he was driving on, which runs from Sedona and Page, Arizona, was often used to dump unwanted pets.
After the pups were nursed back to health, Jordan decided to adopt the doggy duo and take them along on his cross-country road trip. Naming them Sedona and Zeus, the threesome has since driven roughly 32,000 miles through 35 states since they all first met, including a venture into Canada. They’ve visited 12 national parks, roamed Times Square in New York, and seen the bright lights of Hollywood.
Judging by his photos on Istagram, the ‘Adventure Squad’ is having the time of their lives. It’s amazing how one chance encounter can alter one’s path – happy travels!
