Sunwing fam agents get first-hand look at Varadero

TORONTO — Some 40 sales agents from Toronto and Montreal arrived to a warm welcome at Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero on a recent Sunwing fam aimed at showing off Cuba’s post-hurricane recovery.

The agents spent the rest of the fam touring some of Sunwing’s top recommended resorts. The agents saw 14 resorts in all, including Grand Memories Varadero, Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero, Memories Varadero, Royalton Hicacos, Melia Las Americas, Melia Las Antillas, Melia Marina Varadero, Starfish Cuatro Palmas, Barcelo Arenas Blancas, Barcelo Solymar, Iberostar Varadero, Starfish Varadero, Starfish Las Palmas and Iberostar Bella Vista.

David Wright, Sunwing’s Director of Sales for Ontario and Atlantic Canada, says the fam trip boosted agents’ confidence that these resorts are ready once more to give travellers a quality vacation experience. “The resorts looked so polished that it’s hard to believe a hurricane had taken place just a month ago,” said Wright. “Some of them offer expanded beachfronts now. Needless to say we are very impressed by the amount of progress that was made in such a short time. Canada’s favourite Cuban beach destination is certainly back in business.”
