CHICAGO — United is offering travel waivers for passengers whose flight schedules have been impacted by Tropical Storm Nanmadol.
Nanmadol is tracking over southern and central Japan this week, bringing flooding rain and gusty winds. Drenching rain could result in flooding and mudslides, mainly in western Japan. The heavy tropical rainfall is also expected to skirt southern South Korea.
The system made landfall on Japan’s southernmost island, Kyushu, early morning local time on July 4.
United customers travelling to, from or through the following airports are permitted to make voluntary changes to their plans within the parameters provided.
Travel dates and affected cities
- Original ticketed travel dates: July 4 -5, 2017 to, from or through Fukuoka (FUK), Nagoya ((NGO), Osaka (KIX), Tokyo-Haneda (HND) and/or Tokyo-Narita (NRT).
Waiver code
- Travel agents may make voluntary changes or voluntarily self-refund (see Rescheduled Travel) by entering waiver code 7JC98 in the OSI field (ARC reporting agencies) or ticket designator box (BSP reporting agencies).
- Permitted changes
The change fee and any difference in fare will be waived for new flights departing on or before July 8, 2017, as long as travel is rescheduled in the same cabin (any fare class) and between the same cities as originally ticketed. - Refunds
Travel agents may self-refund tickets under the following conditions: original flight is canceled or original flight is delayed and is estimated to arrive at the final destination more than two hours after originally scheduled arrival time.
