GENEVA — Get ready for the biggest season of cruising ever with MSC Cruises, which just announced its most comprehensive range of winter sailing options in company history.

The expanded offers are part of a milestone year for the cruise line, with two new next-generation ships coming into service this year along. Arriving in June is MSC Meraviglia, which will spend the winter in the Mediterranean, followed by MSC Seaside in December, which will homeport in Miami and sail through the Caribbean.

Passengers aboard MSC Seaside will be dazzled by its 360-degree outdoor promenade, two glass-floor catwalks that extend off the side of the ship and glass elevators with panoramic views of the ocean. After being christened in Miami in December, she will offer two itineraries: Eastern Caribbean with calls in San Juan (Puerto Rico), Philipsburg (St. Maarten) and Nassau (Bahamas); and the Western Caribbean with calls in Ocho Rios (Jamaica), George Town (Cayman Islands) and Cozumel (Mexico).

Also sailing the Caribbean is MSC Fantasia, which will introduce new seven- and 14-night cruises in the Southern Caribbean from Martinique to Guadeloupe. New ports of call on these itineraries include Kingstown, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines.

In the Mediterranean, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Cruises’ new flagship launching this June, will offer seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises until April 2018. Designed as the ‘ship for all seasons’, weather is no factor for the Meraviglia, which features endless amenities onboard including an exclusive Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows and a Balinese spa.

New for 2017/2018, MSC Orchestra will offer a brand new series of 10-, 11- and 12-night sailings with four ports of embarkation, including Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona and Civitavecchia. Guests can choose between a new 10-night itinerary in the Mediterranean with only one day at sea, or an 11-night itinerary to Greece stopping in Corfu, Katakolon and Heraklion. Also new is a 12-night itinerary calling at destinations like Madeira and Morocco.

For foodies, the cruise line will introduce a number of shore excursions focused on culinary delights. For example, guests can bake handmade pizza in Naples or tour the world’s only museum dedicated exclusively to Iberian ham in the city of Barcelona.

In South America, MSC Cruises will have four ships based in the region for the winter season. MSC Preziosa and MSC Magnifica will offer cruises of up to seven nights from Santos/Sao Paulo, Brazil; MSC Poesia will offer longer eight- and nine-night cruises from Buenos Aires, Argentina; and MSC Musica will offer a range of cruises from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
