Transat now offering the Middle East with launch of Israel tours

MONTREAL — Transat is breaking new ground with the launch of its first-ever destination in the Middle East: Israel.

The tour operator is offering guided tours and packages in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and many other attractions in and around Israel, beginning mid-June. Clients will have the option between three guided tours that include three- or four-star hotels, experienced guides, air-conditioned coaches and certain meals.

Itineraries include:

  • ‘Bible Land’, available in English only, will showcase the Bible’s holiest sites. Highlights include Cana, where Jesus performed the miracle of wine; Tabgha, the site of the miracle of Loaves and Fishes; and Mount Zion, home of the room where the Last Supper was held. Clients will also swim in the Dead Sea.
  • The ‘Wonders of Israel and Jordan’ is available in French only and features Herod’s palace, Caesarea, Petra and other archaeological sites. A few days will also be spent exploring Jerusalem’s holy sites, souks and museums.
  • Also only available in French only, the ‘Wonders of Israel’ tour will visit the holiest sites of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Highlights include the Judean Desert, swimming in the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem’s Via Dolorosa and Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The tour will also visit Galilee and Tel Aviv.

Clients also have the option for more flexible tours. The ‘Discover Tel Aviv & Jerusalem’ tour includes roundtrip flights in Economy Class, accommodation in three- or four-star hotels, airport transfers, transportation in a coach, a local guide and seven breakfasts. Travellers will visit the church at Tabgha, the ruins of the synagogue in Capernaum, the room where the Last Supper was held and the baptismal site of Yardenit. Also included are Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. Clients are also able to customize their visit.

In addition, one-week holidays to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem will be available soon. These packages will include roundtrip flights in Economy, accommodation in three-, four-, or five-star hotels, airport transfers and seven breakfasts. Travellers will be able to explore the city while staying at the same hotel for the duration of their trip.

To complement these new tours, Air Transat will be offering direct flights from Montreal to Tel Aviv, becoming the only airline to offer direct flights from these gateways. Flights from Toronto, with a connection in Montreal, will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, from June 18 until the end of October. For more information, visit transat.com.
