Stratford manager convicted of operating as an unregistered agent

TORONTO — Sherrill Denny, a branch manager of a TICO-registered travel agency, has pled guilty and was convicted of two counts of operating as a travel agent without registration.

Denny was sentenced to a fine of $10,000 per count, plus Victim Surcharge Fees, for a total of $25,000, on both counts combined.

According to TICO, her actions resulted in substantial financial losses to the consumers. Her employer assumed liability and reimbursed the consumers. After the charges were laid, Denny reimbursed her employer in full. She operated in Stratford and elsewhere in Ontario.
