TORONTO — The Azores Promotion Board is delighted to announce the winner of The Azores Specialist Program. Colleen McNab of Collette Vacations, based in Halifax, will enjoy a trip for two to Ponta Delgada in The Azores for her completion of the workshop on Travelweek’s Learning Centre.

“I am extremely excited as I have been in the travel industry for 30 years and have not had the opportunity to experience the Azores,” said McNab. “It was a pleasant surprise to receive the ‘you have won’ e-mail – I first thought they were kidding!”

The Azores Specialist Program was designed to promote The Azores as a leading European destination with world-class culture, with lots of nature-based adventure tourism.

The Azores Islands are easily accessible to Canadian travellers located in the North Atlantic Ocean halfway between Newfoundland and Lisbon. Flights to The Azores from Pearson take five hours.

“I really did enjoy the course. I found it very informative and the modules were easy to follow, and the questions and answer section was very straightforward. I learned a lot about the country and what our guests will experience during our two Collette tours to the Azores.”

The prize includes roundtrip, nonstop air transportation from Toronto to Ponta Delgada courtesy of SATA International Airlines and seven nights accommodation in a hotel in Ponta Delgada in a double room with breakfast for two.
