TORONTO — Etihad Airways has appointed Fatma Al Mehairi as its new General Manager for Canada. Based in Toronto, Fatma will be responsible for further developing the airline’s commercial strategy in Canada as well as growing Etihad’s relationships with travel trade and corporate customers.
Fatma joined Etihad Airways in 2010 as part of the airline’s Graduate Management Program. After successfully completing the program, she accepted a post in Paris where she spent three years in commercial operations as a Business Development Manager and subsequently as a Corporate Account Manager. She was then appointed as Assistant General Manager.
“Fatma has a wealth of experience with Etihad Airways and in particular, the commercial operations sector, which will serve her and our airline well in her new role in Canada,” said Martin Drew, Senior Vice President of The Americas – Etihad Airways. “Her proven leadership and dedication to our company make her an invaluable addition to the team in Toronto and in The Americas.”
Fatma assumes her new role effective April 1, replacing Craig Thomas who has been appointed Vice President – U.S.A. for Etihad Airways.
