Air Canada & EVA Air kicks off code-share agreement

Air Canada & EVA Air kick off code-share agreement

TAIPEI, TAIWAN — Air Canada passengers can reach Asia that much easier now that the airline has begun a code-sharing agreement with EVA Air, Taiwan’s first privately owned international airline.

The two Star Alliance members began code sharing on March 10, making travel to/from Asia and Canada more convenient and extending services for both airlines’ passengers.

Under the agreement, Air Canada passengers can take EVA-operated flights from Tokyo’s Narita and Seoul’s Incheon airports to both Taoyuan and Kaohsiung International Airports in Taiwan. EVA passengers can fly Air Canada onward from Vancouver to Calgary and Edmonton and from Toronto to Montreal.

EVA offers five flights a week from Taipei to both Toronto and Vancouver. The new code-share gives the airline’s Canada-bound passengers greater flexibility in planning business and leisure itineraries, and provides them with onward flights to Canada’s leading interior cities.

North America continues to be an important market for EVA. In the U.S., the airline flies to Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle and, from just these five gateways, it offers more flights and seat capacity between the U.S. and Taiwan than any other airline. Since joining Star Alliance in June 2013, EVA has steadily expanded passenger benefits through cooperation with other member airlines. In addition to Air Canada, the airline code-shares with Singapore Airlines and significantly strengthens its network within Europe through cooperation with Turkish Airlines.

Passengers can book and buy tickets now for travel on EVA and the code-shared flights at evaair.com.
