TORONTO — Available exclusively through Signature Vacations, Riviera Maya’s Riu Lupita has reopened as a 24-hour all-inclusive.
Agents can earn double STAR points if they book their clients into Riu Lupita by Jan. 31, 2016. During this period, every new RIU booking made with Signature Vacations for departures now through June 30, 2016 qualify. The offer is combinable with RIU’s Riu Partner Club (RPC) loyalty program.
Located two kilometres from the centre of Playa del Carmen and its Fifth Avenue shopping and dining district, Riu Lupita has undergone a complete renovation. Along with a re-styled lobby, the bathrooms across the 300 rooms have been enlarged and completely reconfigured, replacing the bathtub with a walk-in shower.
The renovations extend to the Tequila poolside bar, plus there’s a new dining option. The addition of the new Dante Italian restaurant brings the number of dining choices to four. In other restaurant news, the on-site Mexican restaurant María Bonita is no longer totally open and now has air conditioning as well as updated furniture in line with the new look and feel of the resort. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary WiFi in the common areas of the resort.
Riu Lupita is the latest of three multi-million dollar hotel re-openings in the western Caribbean by RIU Hotels & Resorts in the past two months, joining Riu Playacar and Riu Negril to debut a modern re-design.
Riu Playacar, fresh from a $32 million redo, opened its doors in October with three pools, refreshed guestrooms and solarium terrace, plus four remodelled bars and restaurants, new kids pool and updated Renova Spa and gym facilities. New furnishings, décor and re-styled bathrooms complete the new guest experience. Meanwhile Riu Negril unveiled its new look last month after an extensive $20 million enhancement project.
Prices for a week at Riu Lupita are running at $845 plus taxes per person based on two people sharing a standard room on an all-inclusive basis and departing from Toronto on Jan. 7, 2016.
