Police, paramedics on scene at Pearson’s T1 Departures after reported shooting 

TORONTO — Police and paramedics are on scene at Toronto Pearson Airport’s Terminal 1 Departures after reports of an incident just before 7 a.m. this morning.

News outlets including the CBC say Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a police-involved shooting at Pearson, with one man shot and injured. No officers were injured and police say there is no threat to public safety.

Currently there is no access via vehicle to Terminal 1 Departures level, and the westbound Highway 409 ramp into the area has been closed.

There are reports of passengers walking with their luggage to Terminal 1.
