TORONTO, April 2025 — Skål Toronto has announced its keynote speaker at the upcoming Skål Toronto meeting, taking place in Oakville on April 30.
Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, will be discussing the current state of tourism in Ontario and how the provincial government is supporting the sector.
Minister Cho, who was first elected in 2018, has served in the Ontario legislature for nearly seven years. He was appointed to his current role following the June 2024 provincial election. A University of Toronto graduate and successful businessman, Cho represents the riding of Willowdale and has previously held cabinet roles including Minister of Long-Term Care and Associate Minister of Transportation. In recent months, Minister Cho has announced funding for key cultural institutions such as the Shaw Festival and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, as part of the province’s efforts to enhance Ontario’s cultural landscape.
“Having Minister Cho talk to our Skål tourism and hospitality executive members about the current tourism and cultural segment is very timely in today’s environment,” said Susan Webb, President of Skål Toronto. “There are many opportunities for our Skål members to strengthen our product offerings for tourists both domestic and international.”
The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Suites, Oakville, starting with a networking reception from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner and Minister Cho’s keynote address. The event is open to Skål members, industry professionals and guests. Skål Toronto member Frank Vismeg and the team at the Holiday Inn & Suites Oakville @ Bronte will host the event.
