Spring clean your office – and your life!

Spring is in the air – which means it’s the perfect time to hit reset on your workspace.

As a travel advisor, your desk is mission control. A seasonal declutter can help you feel re-energized, focused, and fully prepped to deliver amazing experiences for your clients.

Why?

When your workspace is cluttered, your mind is too. Lost files, piles of papers, random swag from past conferences—it all adds up. A streamlined space can help you think more clearly, work faster, and serve clients with more ease (and less stress).

Where to Start

Block off a couple of hours and be prepared with bags for trash, recycling, donations, etc.

1. Start with the Drawers

Rather than rummaging through the contents, actually empty each one. Seeing everything at once gives you a true picture of what’s hiding in there.

As you sort, ask yourself:

. Is this essential to my daily work?

. Is there a task I need to follow up on?

. Can this be tossed, recycled, or passed along?

2. Declutter

Toss old pens, outdated brochures, and expired business cards (digitize first). Group essentials – like client files, travel catalogs, or booking forms – using organizers or folders.

That collection of swag you’ve accumulated – store it in a clear plastic bin. You’ll actually be able to find something perfect when it’s time to surprise a client. Or toss them…

3. Desk Deep Clean

Clear off your desk completely and wipe everything down. Put back only the items you really need for current client work. A tray with pens, a notepad, and hand lotion – the real necessities – will help keep things tidy and accessible.

4. Update Your Backdrop

Your Zoom/Teams background speaks volumes. Do you have a virtual background? A neutral wall or decluttered bookshelf (with travel books) works well too.

5. Optimize for Your Work Style

If your office doubles as a guest room or multi-use space, use a rolling cart/desk. Load it with your go-to files and stash it away when the workday ends.

Need a little inspiration? Refresh your vision board with dream destinations or install a whiteboard to track client bookings, inquiries, and trip timelines.

The payoff? A clear space and a clear head.

When done, take a moment to admire your refreshed space. You’ll feel more grounded, energized, and ready to craft unforgettable journeys for your clients.
