TORONTO — SnowbirdAdvisor.ca has an update on registration requirements for foreign nationals, including Canadians, staying in the U.S. for more than 30 days.
Following reports earlier this week, SnowbirdAdvisor.ca now says that on March 12 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a new Interim Final Rule “that will come into effect on April 11, 2025 and could affect a significant number of Canadian snowbirds who may need to register to comply with the rule.”
The site features an interview with U.S. immigration attorney Rosanna Berardi, Managing Partner of Berardi Immigration Law in Buffalo, NY, to shed some light on the situation.
The site also notes: “Please keep in mind that because this is an interim rule, it is still subject to public feedback and change.”
