MONTREAL — Air Transat and the Moroccan National Tourist Office recently whisked a group of travel professionals away on an unforgettable famtour to Marrakech.
Taking place from Feb. 19-23, the trip offered an immersive look at the city’s rich culture, stunning landscapes and unique experiences, all while strengthening partnerships and solidifying Marrakech as a top destination in Air Transat’s expanding network.
The event brought together nine leading agencies and tour operators that actively promote and sell Morocco as a destination, including: Exotik Tours; Voyages Traditours; Terratours; Wingbuddy; Direct Travel; Voyages Classy Travel; Kasbah Holidays; Voyages Mazagan; and Voyageurs du Monde.
The four-day itinerary featured a guided tour of Marrakech, followed by lunch at the Amanjena Hotel. Attendees then embarked on a 4×4 excursion to the Agafay Desert, where they enjoyed a stay at the White Camel Desert Camp, complete with a camel ride and an evening under the stars featuring a folklore performance. Other standout experiences included a sunrise hot-air balloon ride, a Moroccan cooking workshop, and a workshop with local operators.
“The famtrip strengthened our relationships with key partners and reinforced Marrakech’s position as a top choice for travellers seeking adventure and authenticity,” said Jhadyd Gonzalez, Air Transat’s National Sales Manager.
Air Transat remains the only airline offering non-stop flights between Montreal and Marrakech, with service twice weekly.
