TORONTO — Mexico’s Caribbean coastline will become a short flight away next winter for residents of Northern Ontario, as Sunwing adds direct weekly flights from Thunder Bay to Cancun, beginning Dec. 23, 2015.

The new route will be the only option to fly direct to Cancun from Thunder Bay, and will be offered in addition to the weekly flight service to Varadero, Cuba that Sunwing has been operating over the past five years.

Stretching down Mexico’s Caribbean coastline for 150 km as far as Tulum, Cancun and Riviera Maya are among the most popular tourism destinations in the Americas.
