“A December to remember”: Sunwing Vacations reports strong operational performance

TORONTO — In December 2024 Sunwing Vacations carried more than 368,000 vacationers from across Canada onboard some 2,246 Sunwing Airlines flights to dozens of sun destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

Not only that, but 100% of those flights were successfully completed.

All eyes have been on Canada’s airlines this winter, mindful that the high-volume holiday break every December (combined with unpredictable winter weather) can be challenging.

Andrew Dawson, President of Sunwing Vacations Group, said Canada’s travel advisor community “has been integral to our success this season, and we thank them and our mutual customers for trusting Sunwing as their vacation provider of choice.”

Dawson added: “Our winter season has been off to a strong start, with a record number of Sunwing Vacations customers travelling with us in December and over the busy holiday season. Of course, our strong performance has been made possible in large part due to the operational readiness of our primary airline partner Sunwing Airlines, which we are grateful for. We look forward to an equally strong finish to this winter and, with vacation packages quickly selling out for the remainder of the season, we encourage customers to book now to secure their preferred resorts in their preferred sun destinations in the months ahead.”

Sunwing Vacations offers packages to over 700 hotels across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The tour operator announced its initial winter schedule in August 2024, which included the additions of Tulum, Camaguey-Santa Lucia and San Andres, Acapulco, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Plata, Cayo Largo from Montreal and Quebec City, Costa Rica, Roatan and Freeport on Grand Bahama Island.
