TORONTO — TravelBrands has announced its fifth consecutive $10,000 donation to Food Banks Canada, reinforcing its commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting Canadians in need.
This year, under the leadership of Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO of TravelBrands’ parent company H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc., the company expanded its efforts with a food drive.
Held during the annual holiday party, the initiative saw over 500 attendees come together to contribute. Employees also participated from various offices, helping to collect 15 boxes of non-perishable goods for Food Banks Canada.
“Food Banks Canada continues to be a beacon of hope for individuals and families across the country, and we are honoured to support their vital mission,” said Tanious. “Access to food is a fundamental right, and the holiday season often brings added challenges. We are inspired by the organization’s vision of a Canada where no one goes hungry. As the demand for food assistance grows, we remain committed to making a meaningful difference through collective action.”
Suanna Tyson, Director of Corporate Partnerships Food Banks Canada, added: “Food Banks Canada is grateful for our partnership with TravelBrands and appreciates all the support we have received over the last five years, especially at such a critical time when food bank usage is at its highest in Canadian history. Each day people across the country are making the heartbreaking decision of whether to eat, pay rent or give up another basic essential. Through the generous support of partners such as TravelBrands we can work towards our mission of relieving hunger today and preventing hunger tomorrow. Thank you TravelBrands for your continued commitment and help.”
Tanious noted taht TravelBrands is committed to enhancing its corporate social responsibility initiatives “to ensure a direct contribution to addressing food insecurity, with a continued dedication to doing more and making an even greater impact in the future.”
