TORONTO — For its Icons 2024 event, Envoyage treated 50 top-producing travel advisors from around the world to four days of island luxury in the Maldives.
The 10 top selling advisors from each of Envoyage’s five regions – Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and the U.S. – took part in the recognition trip. Along with a guest of their choice, Icons were flown to Heritance Aarah Maldives Resort via private seaplane and greeted with spa vouchers and champagne before taking part in four days of celebration, exploration and rejuvenation.
Supplier partners took part as well, including AmaWaterways, a Platinum Partner of Icons 2024.
“Icons is not just a reward but a testament to the extraordinary efforts of the people who strive for excellence and help propel our brand forward. As we gather at the breathtaking Heritance Aarah Resort, we celebrate not only individual achievements but the collective spirit that unites us as the Envoyage family. Across all the islands of the Maldives, people walk around with their hand over their heart. It is a sign of welcoming visitors with respect and appreciation,” said Envoyage’s Global Managing Director, Danielle Galloway.
Galloway said she looks forward every year to connecting with the group’s Icons, and event partners. “We have some incredible entrepreneurs as part of our global network,” she added.
Envoyage VP and GM Anita Emilio said the retreat was an inspiring platform to honour the exceptional achievements of its entrepreneurial members and strengthen connections across global regions.
“Witnessing our members celebrate their milestones, share expertise, and build relationships within our extended Envoyage family was incredibly rewarding. It embodies the essence of our brand’s core values – endurance, entrepreneurialism, and engagement – and reinforces our commitment to supporting them on every journey they take. The Maldives offered an ideal, aspirational backdrop that mirrored our mission: to inspire, rejuvenate, and empower our members as they continue to elevate their professional journeys with Envoyage,” said Emilio.
Julie Smigadis of Toronto-based Travel Our World said being recognized within the Envoyage community has been an incredible honour. “Envoyage is an extraordinary network of passionate, global travel professionals who not only uplift one another but also inspire continuous growth and innovation. This recognition is a testament to the collaborative spirit and deep-rooted love for travel within this community, and I’m truly grateful to be part of it,” said Smigadis.
Along with AmaWaterways, the list of Platinum Partners for the event also included Journey Beyond and Europ Assistance. Gold Partners included Azamara Cruises, Cover More Travel Insurance, Exoticca, Expedia TAAP, Intrepid Travel, Addicted to Maldives, Viking Cruises and Inclusive Collection, part of the World of Hyatt. Etihad Airways was a Silver Partner of Icons 2024.
Envoyage recently announced South Africa as the location of Icons 2025, which will precede the brand’s largest annual event, Worldwide, also hosted in South Africa. Worldwide is open to all Envoyage members and features partner exhibits, panel sessions, and speakers.
