TORONTO, ON — Exotik Journeys recently wrapped up an exciting and educational FAM trip to Singapore and Malaysia, providing a group of travel advisors with a firsthand look some of Southeast Asia’s most inspiring destinations.
The trip, which ran from Oct. 18-27, 2024, welcomed advisors from Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia, offering them an immersive experience designed to enhance their ability to sell and promote travel to these two sought-after locales.
Led by Exotik Journeys’ Business Development Manager Jessica Smid, the trip was an opportunity for agents to explore some of Singapore and Malaysia’s most iconic attractions, while also gaining deeper insight into the customized travel services Exotik Journeys offers. Lydia Lefort, Supervisor of the Customized Groups Department, also joined the group, providing her expertise in bespoke travel solutions throughout the trip.
The agents flew to Singapore aboard Air Canada’s direct flight from Vancouver and enjoyed stays in four- and five-star hotels. In Singapore, they were treated to guided tours and experiences that showcased the city’s signature mix of modernity and tradition. In Malaysia, the group explored diverse landscapes and cultural landmarks, from the serene mangroves of Langkawi to the bustling streets of Penang, and the cool, verdant hills of the Cameron Highlands. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Batu Caves, a series of limestone caves housing Hindu shrines, which left a lasting impression on the group.
For Exotik Journeys, the goal of the FAM trip was not only to introduce travel advisors to Singapore and Malaysia, but to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to design personalized itineraries for their clients. “We believe that hands-on experiences are invaluable for agents who want to truly understand a destination,” said Smid. “By experiencing these locations firsthand, our agents are now empowered to offer their clients an even more tailored and authentic travel experience.”
The trip also highlighted the strong partnership between Exotik Journeys and Air Canada. “We’d like to extend our gratitude to Air Canada for their continued support in facilitating smooth travel experiences for our group,” added Smid. Special thanks were also given to Exotik Journeys’ local partners and suppliers in both Singapore and Malaysia for their service and hospitality.
