Hola Sun ready to assist with Cuba travel plans: Rocha

TORONTO — Cuba’s return to normal operations is good news for Canada’s tour operators, including Hola Sun Holidays.

As reported yesterday, Cuba’s hotels and tourist areas are back online following a nationwide blackout.

Hugo Rocha, Sales Director of Hola Sun Holidays, emphasized that all flights are operating normally and it’s business as usual.

“Hola Sun is ready to assist Canadian tourists in planning their vacations to enjoy the beauty of Cuba,” said Rocha.

Rocha reiterated the latest update from the Cuba Tourist Board in Canada: that power has been restored across several areas, including Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Cruz, Cayo Paredon, Cayo Santa Maria, Holguin, Varadero, and Havana.

Lessner Gomez, director of the Cuba Tourism Board in Canada, noted that excursions and tours are back in operation, and all airports are fully functional.

Regarding Hurricane Oscar, Gomez reported that Cuba was fortunate, as the storm quickly downgraded to a tropical storm and only affected the northeastern tip of the country, impacting the provinces of Guantanamo and Holguin.

Hola Sun hosted travel advisors last Friday for its annual Friday Fiesta product launch. Check out Travelweek’s event coverage here.
