MELBOURNE — Intrepid Travel has appointed Celine Hurelle to lead its expansion into the accommodation sector.
Hurelle, who has 24 years of experience at Accor, will focus on developing Intrepid’s hotel and accommodation initiatives.
Hurelle will report to CEO James Thornton and collaborate with the executive team to explore new opportunities for property acquisitions. She will be based in Melbourne, Australia.
“I have a deep admiration for Intrepid’s approach to responsible travel and am impressed by the company’s growth over the years. Joining the company at this time is very exciting, and I look forward to utilizing my two decades of experience to drive expansion into community-led and local properties that are truly ‘intrepid’ in every sense,” said Hurelle.
Intrepid currently operates two hotels: the Daintree Ecolodge in Queensland, Australia, and the Hoi An Field Boutique Hotel in Vietnam. Both properties emphasize local and responsible travel.
“I’m delighted to welcome Celine to our team – her depth of experience in hospitality will supercharge our global expansion plans. Our vision is to grow with responsibly operated, locally based accommodations that not only reflect the destination and community but also give back. We aim to ensure that our customers have a true Intrepid experience in all our properties, and I look forward to seeing what we achieve next,” said Thornton.
