Flair Airlines sets its expansion sights on agent bookings via GDS, but commission remains elusive

Flair Airlines posts 98.2% completion rate for 2023

EDMONTON — Flair Airlines posted a 98.2% completion rate for 2023, plus the carrier was the second most on-time airline in Canada in 2023, with an average on-time performance rate of 68.8%.

An airline’s completion rate measures flights flown compared to those originally scheduled.

“As we celebrate our achievements in 2023, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our customers, dedicated team and partners who contributed to our success. Together, we’ve not only achieved remarkable completion and on-time performance but also saved Canadians over $415 million. Looking ahead, we are committed to enhancing the travel experience and reshaping the landscape of affordable air travel in Canada,” said Flair CEO Stephen Jones.

Last month Flair successfully facilitated travel for more than 296,000 passengers throughout Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the D.R. and the Caribbean. The airline’s December load factor was 87%.

For all of 2023, Flair transported 4.5 million passengers, maintaining a load factor of 86% consistently throughout the year.

Flair’s calculation methodology uses public fare data courtesy of aviation analytics specialist Cirium.

“We are very excited about the upcoming year. We will be launching new routes and enhancing our network all aimed at reshaping the travel experience for Canadians. Our focus remains on providing affordable travel options and breaking down barriers so more Canadians can enjoy convenient and budget-friendly travel opportunities,” said Jones.
