Avianca opens ticket sales for its new Montreal-Bogota route

MONTREAL — Avianca will operate four flights per week between Montréal and Bogota, the capital of Colombia, starting March 31.

The flights will be operated using A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers each, offering a total of 1,200 seats per week.

In December 2021, Avianca announced its arrival in Canada with the inauguration of routes from Bogota and San Salvador to Toronto. To date, the airline has flown some 350,000 passengers on more than 2,800 flights between Canada and Colombia.

Starting March 31, Avianca will land for the first time at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, kicking off the carrier’s next Bogota route.

From Montreal, flight AV201 will depart at 11:25 p.m., arriving in Bogota at 4:39 a.m. On the return, flight AV200 will depart Bogota at 2:20 p.m., arriving in Montreal at 10:05 p.m. Flights operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“We arrived in Canada just over two years ago with our operation to Toronto, and today we are delighted to announce Avianca’s upcoming arrival in Montréal at the end of March as the second destination in the country,” said Rolando Damas, Director of Sales for North America, Central America and the Caribbean. “Currently, more than 120,000 Colombians live in Canada, and over 20,000 Canadian residents visit Colombia each year. Undoubtedly, this new route will facilitate greater connections for tourists, students, and businesses between the two countries.”

Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia, the promotion agency of Colombia, added: “Canadians are drawn to explore Colombia’s year-round tropical climate, especially our culture, and abundant natural wealth, and this is why we celebrate flourishing air connectivity between Canada and Colombia, which provides travelers with the opportunity to explore the magic of both nations. With this new Avianca flight, we want travelers from Montreal to see Colombia as a trendy destination with unparalleled beauty, and meaningful travel experiences that leave both tourists and locals touched forever.”
