TORONTO — Porter Airlines is headed to Victoria with the launch of service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ).
Service begins on Sept. 20, 2023 with one daily roundtrip flight at introductory roundtrip fares starting at $476. Connecting flights with Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St. John’s will also be available.
Victoria marks the second city in British Columbia that Porter is serving with its new 132-seat Embraer E192-E2 aircraft. It will offer once daily roundtrip service between Ottawa and Vancouver, starting July 26, also on the E192-E2.
Earlier this month, the airline confirmed 10 additional E195-E2s are on the way, with deliveries beginning later this year. The aircraft boasts the lowest fuel consumption per seat and per trip among its class, and is the quietest single-aisle jet flying today. With its two-by-two configuration, it also means no middle seats on any Porter flight.
“Victoria is a great addition to our network and provides easy access to Vancouver Island,” says Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Porter Airlines. “Travellers will appreciate Porter’s award-winning elevated economy experience, which is unmatched in the market today. Our emphasis is on high-quality service for every passenger – regardless of their fare class.”
Porter’s service includes complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, free premium snacks, and free Wi-Fi, with full access to web surfing or streaming platforms available to all travellers. Fresh, healthy meals, pre-mixed cocktails and additional snack options are also available on the new route.”
Porter continues to expand its presence in Western Canada, where it not serves Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.
