VANCOUVER — Cathay Pacific’s lounge at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has reopened as the airline continues to add more flights to its global schedule.
The lounge reopened on June 16, 2023 ahead of the departure of flight CX865 on June 17. Designed by London-based Studioilse, it originally opened in May 2016 in the International Terminal of YVR, between departure gates D70 and D71, measuring 510 square metres and accommodating 108 guests.
“Cathay Pacific is delighted to welcome guests back to our lounge at Vancouver International Airport. Cathay Pacific’s lounges are an integral part of our customer experience. The lounge in Vancouver is designed to reflect the Cathay Pacific brand experience and to offer passengers both relaxation and enjoyment, whether they are en route to Hong Kong or travelling beyond to one of Cathay Pacific’s destinations throughout Asia,” said Chris Van den Hooven, Cathay Pacific SVP, Americas.
While enjoying the lounge, guests will notice cherry wood walls, limestone flooring and green ceramic tiles in The Noodle Bar, as well as bronze and brass highlights in the main entrance and bar area. Specially sourced artwork reflects the local culture of British Columbia, giving the feel of a domestic space rather than a standard airline lounge. Natural sunlight filters through the windows, while bespoke chairs and side tables with in-built lamps and sockets are placed by the glass, allowing passengers to enjoy views of the runway and mountains beyond. Complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the lounge.
As dining is a focal point of the lounge experience, guests can enjoy a selection of dishes at the signature Noodle Bar, including wonton noodle soup, dan dan noodle soup and authentic Hong Kong-style fish ball noodle soup. Another dining highlight is The Pantry, where they can enjoy cold cuts, a selection of cheeses, salads, international hot food, fruits, desserts, choice of wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
The lounge is open to First and Business Class passengers travelling on Cathay Pacific, Cathay members with Silver Card status or above, and members of all tiers who earn lounge passes and/or their friends and family, including oneworld members with Sapphire status or above and First and Business Class passengers travelling on oneworld partners.
The Cathay Pacific Lounge opens four hours prior to scheduled flight departure.
