Air Canada to double service to Grenada this fall

GEORGE’S, GRENADA — Grenada will be welcoming many more Canadians starting this fall thanks to the resumption of Air Canada service on Oct. 29.

With the resumed flights, Air Canada will be doubling its frequency to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to four weekly.

The Air Canada nonstop flights will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing at 9:30 a.m. from YYZ and landing at GND at 3:55 p.m. The Grenada-Toronto leg will depart at 4:55 p.m. and arrive at YYZ at 9:55 p.m. Service will be aboard Air Canada’s Boeing 737 Max 8 with 16 business class seats and 153 economy seats.

“We are pleased to be able to offer more connections between Grenada and Toronto with up to four flights per week,” said Nino Montagnese, Vice President at Air Canada Vacations. “This enhanced schedule will allow Canadian travellers to experience the unspoiled natural gems and crystalline waters of Grenada. Customers can also escape to paradise with ease with Air Canada Vacations’ robust collection of vacation packages.”

Grenada’s Consul General Dawne Francois added: “The return of direct service by Air Canada to Grenada is a positive development for air transport relations between the airline and our country. We have a very significant diaspora presence in Toronto and demand for travel to Grenada is at an all-time high.”

Canada is Grenada’s fourth largest source market behind the United States, the UK and the Caribbean. Canadians can look forward to several major events in Grenada later this year, including Grenada Rugby World 7s from Nov. 30-Dec. 2, and Carriacou Parang Festival from Dec. 15-17. Grenada will also welcome two new luxury hotels in Q4: the luxury boutique Beach House by Silversands Grenada featuring standalone 1-bedroom villas and two 2-bedrooms suites, and Six Senses at La Sagesse, which will mark the brand’s debut in the Caribbean with 56 guestrooms, seven 1-bedroom villas and five 2-bedroom villas.
