Condor to launch Edmonton-Frankfurt service in May 2023

Condor Airlines returns to Toronto with year-round Frankfurt service

FRANKFURT — Condor Airlines has made its big return to Toronto with year-round, nonstop service to Frankfurt.

Operating 4x/weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the service kicked off May 2 from Toronto. All flights to and from Frankfurt are operated on Boeing 767-300 equipment and feature Economy, Premium and Business classes.

From its Frankfurt hub, Condor also offers connecting service to more than 100 destinations throughout Europe via Condor and a network of airline and rail partners including Lufthansa, SAS, Aegean Airlines and more. Easy connections in Frankfurt can be made to such popular locales as Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Athens, Zurich, Geneva, Split, Hamburg, Berlin, Seville and Budapest.

According to Mathias Friess, vice president and area manager, North America, the airline is seeing increased pent-up demand from Canadians due to limited service to Europe these past two years.

“Condor Airlines is pleased to return to Toronto and provide travellers from the region with a more affordable way to get to Europe. We are also thrilled following a pause during the pandemic to now return to year-round service,” he says.

Janik Reigate, director of strategic customer relationships at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, adds that Toronto Pearson is pleased to welcome back Condor ahead of the traditionally busy summer travel season. “As restrictions continue to ease and interest in air travel grows amongst the public, partnerships like the one we have with Condor are so important to offering our valued passengers the choice they’ve come to expect from Toronto Pearson,” says Reigate.

Condor also notes that as more leisure travellers look to splurge on their vacation, premium classes with fares that are up to 50% less than those of legacy airlines will likely be a popular choice among Canadians.

Condor’s Business Class features lie-flat seats, a personal in-seat premium touchscreen entertainment system, power ports at every seat and premium menus with complimentary non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. In addition, special menus for children as well as vegetarian, vegan and lactose or gluten-free meals are available. Business Class passengers also have access to priority check-in and lounge access.

Condor’s Premium Class features seats with added legroom, leg rests and adjustable headrests, a premium in-flight, in-seat entertainment system with an extended program, USB ports at every seat, premium meals and complimentary beverages.
