TORONTO — TICO’s board of directors has approved 31 claims against Albarkah Travel and Tours Inc. to assist 94 consumers who did not receive the travel services for which they had paid.
Claims totalled $124,700.64. One claim was denied as it was not based on a payment for travel services.
In addition, three claims against Tucan Travel Inc. were approved assisting four consumers who did not receive the travel services for which they had paid. Claims totalled $9,248.
Seven claims were denied as the consumer purchased their travel services from an out of province travel retailer.
The combined approved claims totalled $133,948.64 assisting 98 consumers.
The claims were approved on June 29, 2021. Also on June 29, at TICO’s AGM, the board of directors re-elected Scott Stewart as Vice-Chair. Robert Townshend was the successful candidate for the two-year elected position on the Board. Joanne Dhue was named to the Board by the Canadian Association of Tour Operators and will serve for a two-year term.
