TORONTO — Aeroflot will discontinue its Toronto-Moscow service later this month but it has nothing to do with the Canadian government’s support of Ukraine in its dispute with Russia, according to the carrier.

The route, which began this past spring, was not profitable, according to airline officials and the three-times weekly service will end Oct. 26.

Sanctions placed on Russia by Canada likely cut the number of business travellers on the route.
