In Maui, travellers who cannot decide between an outrigger canoe paddle or surf lesson can indulge in Maui Surf Lessons’ new canoe surfing adventure. No prior outrigger canoe paddling or surfing experience is required for this family activity. The Maui Surf Lessons’ skilled canoe captains teach guests everything they need to know and steer the canoes so all guests have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Also in Maui, visitors can enjoy a morning on the water and some paddling knowledge and history with ‘hoe waa’, an outrigger canoe paddling experience offered by Alii Maui Outrigger Canoes. The ocean adventure is now offered daily at 7:00 a.m., exclusive to guests of The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas. Participants will paddle in a six-person outrigger canoe while expert guides share the history of paddling in Hawaii, correct techniques, stories of the West Maui area surrounding the resort and more.
