Saskatchewan Insurance Exams to be available online through CITC Print E-mail

REGINA — The General Insurance Council of Saskatchewan, in association with the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC), is making the Saskatchewan Travel Insurance Qualifying Exams available online through CITC.

Saskatchewan residents selling travel insurance are required to write both the Travel Insurance Qualifying and Bylaw Exams.

Non-residents of Saskatchewan are required to write the Travel Insurance Qualifying Exam only.

Effective Sept. 1, CITC will administer the online General Insurance Council Bylaw Exam and the online Travel Insurance Qualifying Exam for Council.

Exams that are written Sept. 1 and onwards will be available for registration on the CITC website as of Aug. 24. All registrations must be submitted a minimum of 10 business days in advance of the exam date.

The Travel Insurance Qualifying Exam for individuals outside of Saskatchewan has a fee of $109 plus tax and includes the online exam, study manual and an online training webinar.

The Bylaw Exam for individuals who reside in Saskatchewan is $55 plus tax. Saskatchewan applicants requiring both exams will be able to purchase a bundle package for $160 plus tax.

Council will continue to offer exam sittings in Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon on a weekly basis. The exams will be available in paper copy only.

Prior to writing the Travel Insurance Qualifying Exam, the applicant will be required to purchase the CITC Study Manual and provide evidence to Council of the purchase when scheduling an exam.
