Consortium model ideal for home-based agents: V.com’s James
TORONTO — Vacation.com has added 75 new members year-to-date and now counts some 650 Vacation.com agencies across Canada.
Vacation.com is seeing its fair share of home-based agents expressing interest in joining its network, adds Christine James, Vice-President, Vacation.com Canada.
“The consortium model attracts home-based agents, as they know that they need to align themselves with an agency group that gives them access to enhanced commissions, marketing programs, technology solutions training that help them compete and grow their business,” she said.
Vacation.com uses the Internet to reach out to its home-based agents “on a frequent and very targeted basis”, she adds. The group offers a schedule of recorded and live webinars to complement its local, regional and international conferences and events.
Vacation.com agency sales for 2013 are “phenomenal”, says James, up by 15 to 20% year over year so far.
