The Alamo is San Antonio’s No. 2 tourist attraction after the River Walk. At this historic site, a band of Texans held out for 13 days against the Centralist army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana, symbolizing courage and sacrifice for the cause of liberty.
Festive décor lines the streets during Fiesta San Antonio, an annual celebration of the city’s diverse heritage and culture. The festival has been taking place every April since 1891 and features parades, food fairs and live music.
